At RNAS Yeovilton, we have built a modern 25m EFASS structure, designed and manufactured to meet their specific operational needs. Here are some standout features of the hangar:

  • Dimensions and design: The EFASS structure measures an impressive 25m in width, 40m in length, and includes a 5.5m leg height. Its modular design means the length can be tailored to suit various operational requirements. For this project, ten 4m long modules were selected to perfectly fit the client’s needs.
  • Durable fabric cladding: The exterior of the hangar features a robust goosewing grey fabric, while the interior is finished in white. This dual-layer cladding, combined with 150mm of Rubb’s Thermohall® glass wool insulation, ensures optimal energy efficiency and comfort throughout the year.
  • Heli-Door and access points: The 21.5m Heli-Door, designed and installed by Rubb UK, provides seamless access for aircraft and personnel. Additionally, the hangar includes a 5m x 5m electrically operated roller shutter door at the rear, supplied by North East manufacturer Hart Doors, and four personnel porch doors for easy access.
  • Lighting and environmental control: Inside, the hangar is illuminated with high-quality 500 lux LED lighting, creating a bright and efficient workspace. The climate is controlled by a modern HVAC system, housed externally in two 20ft ISO containers, ensuring a comfortable environment year-round.
  • Electrical and safety features: The hangar is equipped with a comprehensive power distribution panel to support all electrical needs, including a state-of-the-art fire alarm system.
