Rubb is pleased to introduce SolarFlex, a new solar‑integrated building solution developed in partnership with Norwegian clean‑energy company Alotta. SolarFlex is based on Alotta Prism technology, combining Rubb’s expertise in fabric‑engineered buildings with Alotta’s experience in delivering reliable solar power systems for demanding environments.
Designed specifically for Rubb buildings, SolarFlex integrates solar‑generation capability directly into the roof, as part of the building envelope. The lightweight system enables on‑site electricity generation while maintaining the durability and performance expected of industrial fabric structures.
SolarFlex supports grid‑connected, off‑grid, and hybrid energy configurations, helping customers reduce emissions, lower operating costs, and improve energy resilience across a wide range of applications.
The joint, patent‑pending solution has been developed for deployment on Rubb’s industrial‑strength fabric buildings, used worldwide in sectors such as ports, logistics, aquaculture, and heavy industry. Pilot and demonstration installations have been completed in Norway—including harsh coastal environments—to validate system integration and performance.
In a time where both regulatory requirements and expectations for emissions reductions are increasing, access to solar energy is becoming ever more important. Together with Rubb, we make it easier for customers to adopt lightweight and flexible solutions that perform in demanding environments – delivering both reduced emissions and greater control over energy use. We highly value our collaboration with Rubb and what we are achieving together.

The system has been under development and testing since 2024, with further pilot installations now underway.
SolarFlex focuses on delivering:
SolarFlex is designed as a long‑life solution, with an expected system lifetime of 25–30 years, very low maintenance requirements, and long warranties on PV components. Service and support options are available through Rubb and Alotta.
By combining Rubb’s proven fabric engineering capabilities with Alotta’s Prism technology and renewable energy expertise, SolarFlex strengthens our ability to support customers working towards lower emission operations. This partnership reflects a shared focus on practical, reliable solutions that deliver real long term value.
