Peter celebrates retirement after almost three decades at Rubb

Peter Wiles is celebrating retirement after 29 years of service. Peter’s worked as a fabricator/welder since he first joined Rubb on August 24th, 1996.

With almost three decades under his belt at Rubb’s Gateshead HQ, he’s worked on thousands of projects.

“Back then it was mainly standard buildings—12m, 20m, 25m. But lately, it’s more bespoke. I suppose it’s more challenging when it’s like that. The first really big ones we did were Tilbury Dock.”

Peter's last day at Rubb.

What’s Peter’s highlight at Rubb?

“I think the EFASS, when they first came out. We had to develop different doors and stuff like that, which is challenging. […] It keeps your brain occupied trying to keep ahead of these drawings!”

We wish him all the best in his retirement!

People remaining with Rubb for so long really speaks to the team we have here. Their dedication and hard work have made Rubb into what it is today. Thank you, Peter.
