EFASS Door Options
Roller Shutter Door
Roller Shutter Door systems are designed to be fitted easily to EFASS military structures at bases and in theatre.
Helidoor
The EFASS helicopter hangar door systems are designed to be quickly constructed and used easily in the field to support all military operations. This vertically folding door is electrically operated via two slow moving helical geared motors, with emergency hand operation capability.
Trident Door
Designed specifically for the 20.4m span EFASS, this full end-opening aircraft hangar door helps speed up deployment. Three framed PVC panels are hinged at the base of the hangar and operate via a motorised folding mechanism.

The EFASS is available with three main door options to accommodate all types of military operations.
All structures including the door are packed into 20ft ISO containers for transport via land, sea and air.

The EFASS Range
11.1m EFASS
The 11.1m EFASS light aircraft, vehicle and maintenance hangar is the smallest in the range but it is constructed using the same roof and leg elements as the 20.4m span Rubb Military building and built to the same high specifications.
During the development of the 11.1m EFASS hangar, the first prototype of the Rubb Helidoor was developed and tested on this shelter using standard EFASS roof elements as horizontal door members. The 10.1m Heli-Door provides an almost full width opening to allow access to the hangar.
The project created a lot of interest from visiting British and American military personnel, prompting the addition of two more options, ballistic protection and roof-mounted crane.
Ballistic protection was developed in partnership with QinetiQ, North America’s Last Armour Division, providing a fast installation and removal of the protective panels to the inside of the shelter walls.
The 1000kg SWL crane enables heavy maintenance and engine changes to both aircraft and military vehicles in theatre.
20.4m EFASS
The 20.4m Rubb rapid deployed military aircraft hangar was the first of the EFASS aircraft hangar range of soft walled temporary buildings to be specifically designed to comply with a very stringent military compliance matrix from the Royal Air Force.
The 20.4m Rubb rapid deployment military aircraft hangar was the first of the EFASS aircraft hangar range in 2002. The soft walled temporary buildings are specifically designed to comply with a very stringent military compliance matrix from the Royal Air Force.
Fighter jet hangars required worldwide rapid deployment capabilities. The maintenance and storage aircraft shelters were designed to accommodate fixed wing aircraft with particular emphasis on the Tornado, where it had to perform as a front-line maintenance and storage hangar and a sunshade (both doors open).
25m EFASS
The 25m Rubb rapid deployment military aircraft hangar is the largest hangar in the EFASS range of military buildings. This size hangar can be packed into two 20ft ISO shipping containers and erected in less than four days.
The first EFASS helicopter hangars were 25m span x 36m long with Fast Jet Door technology. The helicopter shelters were packed into two 20ft containers. This specification and door type was purchased by both the US Army and the RAF, with an operational independent assessment taking place at Fort Campbell (the 160th SOAR Regiment).
The helicopter hangar was unpacked from its containers and erected by the 160th military personnel with two Rubb technicians. All attributes were tried and tested to ensure that it was adequate to house and maintain a Chinook helicopter with its blades fully deployed. The exercise helped identify two wish list items which would enhance the product’s performance: the Helidoor and internal roof mounted crane.
