Team Transform test their mettle on lifting frame

Rubb has branched out to create a lifting rig for Transform Fitness in Durham.

Transform Fitness now boasts a new facility, featuring some great equipment, including the lifting rig, custom designed for TF by Rubb Buildings Ltd.

The rig features 10 lifting stations, pull up and climbing racks, rope climbs and monkey bars, which climb up to 4m at their highest point.

Owner and Trainer Graham Irving said: “It has become the focal point for our new facility. It is so useful and can be used for all sorts of activities and interactive group training sessions. It is unique and there is nothing out there quite like this in this area.”

Gym user Helen Greaves added: “I have used it quite a few times in PT with Alex (Mirley, Co-Owner and Trainer at TF). It is great for strength training – it’s fantastic.”

Rubb Managing Director Ian Hindmoor said: “I trained with Transform Fitness leading up to my Total Warrior 2015 challenge. During that time Graham and Alex’s business was growing rapidly and continues to do so. I was delighted that Rubb Buildings Ltd was able to help out with custom designing, manufacturing and providing the rig. I hope that Transform Fitness continues to grow and be successful.”

A separate weights room is available consisting of racks, dumbbells, cables and kettlebells.

An artificial turf area includes battle ropes, sled training, plyometric and speed work, power workouts and sport specific sessions. A boxing area will be kitted out with heavy bags and finally a treadmill and concept II rower for those demanding cross-training routines.

Transform Fitness, at 32 Rennys Lane, Gilesgate Moor is open from 6am until 8pm. Membership packages are available which allow people to use the facility at their leisure and also attend TF Fitcamp. There is also an option to ‘pay as you go’ for those who can’t commit to a membership.
